During the 2023 election campaign, National Party Leader Christopher Luxon said the country needed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by accelerating the transition to electric vehicles.
Under its $257 million pledge, ‘Supercharging EV infrastructure’, National promised to deliver a “comprehensive, nationwide network” of 10,000 public EV chargers by 2030.
